Yoga came into my life in early 2000 when I traveled around India. At an ashram in Kerala, I got to try yoga and got hooked on yoga as a form of exercise. But I understood that there was so much more then just the physical training. I explored literature about yoga and started holding classes at home in Sweden after receiving my first diploma as a yoga instructor. I studied to be Swedish massagetherapist and also an Ayurvedic masseur and opened my eyes to the ayurvedic knowledge and yoga philosophy.
I explored Ayurveda and started consulting in Ayurvedic health in early 2000. Back then, not many people knew what Ayurveda was in the town where I was practising. I often had to explain the basic concepts, the connection to yoga and that it is not about eating Indian food for my clients. I explored the spiritual part of yoga and have come to the conclusion during my studies in religion that it is also an important part of food and eating. We are often afraid in the West to integrate a spiritual perspective into what we do. But it can give us a bigger picture and an increased sense of meaning around health, food and eating.
In many years of working with clients, I have compared to Western coaching around food and health. I have come to the conclusion that this particular training is needed! We are far too unaware of eating. A big focus has long been on WHAT to eat. It’s time to add how when why and with whom….and perhaps most important of all – to connect ourselves into the practice of eating.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing to study this course and for trusting me to be your teacher! I hope it delivers an
interesting perspective, new tools and knowledge to get more yoga into food and eating!
